Wayan and Puspa came to meet us at the Ubud market where they showed us all the indonesian ingredients. After a small tour to the rice paddies we went to their house, a typical Indonesian family compounds. This was great because you can never enter one since they are private houses. Wayan showed us the family temple and gave us some precious cultural explanations. Then we went to their beautiful open air kitchen where the master chef processed some coconut oil in front of us. In a very warm and friendly atmosphere we cooked a feast that of course we ate. My husband and I went with our two daughters (4 and 6), and they did enjoy the cooking too.
If you want to learn about cooking but also about the Indonesian culture in a relax and authentic way, I will definitely recommend this cooking class.
