5 of 5 starsI had the most fabulous day with Puspa and Wayan doing the cooking class in August 2010, it was hands on which none of the others offered seemed to be and well worth the money. Wayan and Puspa were both knowledgeable and welcoming. The morning started with a visit to the markets and a walk through with Puspa and an introduction to the produce available. We then visited their village where Wayan talked to us about Bali and the way the village works and the process of rice farming. Following this we headed to their home where we were welcomed and introduced to Balinese life. They welcomed us to the temple area in their home and Puspa completed the ceremonies before we headed off to get on with the cooking! We made a series of traditional balinese dishes with organic ingrediants fresh from their garden which was fun and tasted great! Puspa was well aware of the sensitivities of our stomachs and had made sure she bought all meat from a reputable butcher, the hygiene standards were well on par with that expected. We got the recipes to keep at the end of the day.

Overall it was a fabulous day, filled with laughter and a warmth that is often hard to find Puspa and Wayan were fabulous and i now feel that i have friends in Ubud should i return...
Would highly recommend this to anyone interested in a culutral experience in Ubud.
